Bio My undergraduate work was primarily involving art education grade 1-12. When I went back to get my masters degree I graduated in Curriculum and Instruction. I received my specialist degree in Science Education and my doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction

Courses Taught I am teaching and have taught Science Education methods classes to for 15 years at the college level to Junior and senior level students. I also taught classroom management and science and social studies classes. Every semester I go into the schools to observe and evaluate student teachers.

Research Interests Information processing and “how children learn,” The focus has been on retention of content using graphic organizers including the Roundhouse diagram – the topic of my dissertation.

The Acadiana Park Nature Station in Lafayette began collaborating Block II Science Classes with fourth graders from Lafayette Parish (approximately 30 schools) 2005-2012 as a way to integrate field experiences with the forest as the classroom. Every semester – (2000-2013) Project Learning Tree, provides professional development for Block II and Block III students in Math and Science. Every spring semester – Block II & Block III science student judges for Regional Science Fair (2002-2012). Every fall semester – Block II and Block III science student judges for St. Landry Parish Science Fair and Ascension Day Science Fair (2000-20012). Chitimacha Tribal School has come to campus for workshops (2004-2010) in a collaboration program with Project Learning Tree workshops. Robin Ward, Mary Keller and Walter Gonsoulin went to the Chitimacha School for their Project Learning Tree Certification.
