Back in the days, bicycle rides seem to be one of the things that made us gather together and have fun but it has now become abandoned as it has been replaced by mobile phones, tabs and other technologies. This painting features how kids back then enjoy themselves by having a simple yet joyful bicycle ride.

This photo features the life of a trishaw pedaler spending his free time resting on his own trishaw. Nowadays trishaw has become a mode of transportation for tourist to venture around Penang island. Back in the days, trishaws were used to transport people with higher status and the rich. This mode of transportation has been passed down since then but with a little twist, it has now become a public transport around Penang Island mainly for tourist attraction.

This painting has become popular due to its inclusion “prop” which attracts attention of passerby. The preparation of the painting involves sourcing for a disused motorcycle. Back in the days, kids were illegally allowed to ride their parent’s motorcycle to seek for a living.
