5 Minutes with the BIBLE

child is too young to learn from the most important book in history. Here are

some pointers: *Set a routine *Sing fun songs

*Read from a children’s Bible *Introduce additional material

Dear Parents,

We are rapidly approaching the end of a fabulous school year! Teachers and students are already “counting down” to summer…34 more school days! I hope your time this year at HPK has been as good as mine.

Thank you all for your prayers, gifts, and service to this wonderful outreach ministry of Highland Park.

God Bless you and your family, Beth Prosser

Bible Verse “Be ready to do

whatever is good.” Titus 3:1

We will be learning all about the “Fruit of the Spirit” and singing

a fun song about them during chapel.

Ask your child to sing it to you!

I read the following by the columnist George Will- “Perhaps the soundest advice for parents is: Lighten up. People have been raising children for approximately as long as there have been people.” I think Will is on to something here. We put so much pressure on our children to excel, to be the best, to always win, to grow up fast, that they have very little room just to be children. Yet, it is in being a child- a small person with no expectations placed on them, no worries given to them, being totally dependent on others- that we find a living example of our relationship with God. God loves us, cares for us, and wants us to enjoy the life given to us. Jesus said we must become as little children if we are to enter his kingdom.
