With standard white LEDs it is not possible to realize luminaires or LED lamps with both high efficacies and a high CRI.

A GD oval plus whose luminous flux is ~16 % lower than other LEDs may yield an application efficacy which is approximately 5 % higher.

• Luminous flux of the component: 115 lm

• Aperture losses: Light that is radiated under large angles won't reach lens: - 5 %

• Losses of the lens (Fresnel reflection at

interface air / PMMA & internal losses): - 15 %

• Total luminous flux: 93 lm

Competitor LED without integrated optics

In this example a Golden Dragon oval plus LED will yield an application efficacy which is approximately 5 % higher compared to the competitor LED.
