Year 2 Home Learning Journey Week 13 - 29.6.20 Hi Year 2! Hello everyone, I hope you have all had a good week, it has been so hot that the children at school have had a series of water fights and the year 6 got to throw water at Mr Wiggin he was soaked! We tried to make bird feeders in Brooks House using lard – but it was so hot that the lard kept melting and I think we dropped more bird feed on the floor than actually made it home to feed birds! I have had a series of disasters this weekend, the worst of these was destroying my memory stick closely followed by spilling lemonade all over the school computer which has now stopped working. (I still haven’t confessed this to Mr Wiggin – he may find out when he reads this!) I have had to use Mr Squire’s computer which he is rather unhappy about as I am taking over his Solitaire time! We keep finding lots of wildlife at the moment at home, Rafiki uncovered 12 newts in the garden, we found a huge grass snake in the compost bin at the allotment, apparently it has laid some eggs in there,(I didn’t stick around to see!) which is a good thing according to my dad! It was huge, I haven’t seen a snake that long before and confess to running away from it! We also came across hundreds of tiny toads crossing a path when we were riding the horses, I have never seen so many toads in one place before! Have you seen anything interesting near where you live? Send in pictures if you can make an interesting animals collage on the website! Special Activity! I have put a link to the Rutland dance academy in the Keep Active section of your learning journey, this link takes you to a dance tutorial! With your mum, dad, brothers, sisters, people in your household bubble, neighbours, anyone you would like to join you, learn the dance moves! When you are confident with them please video yourself or group dancing to the song and send your videos
