LEARN TO SWIM AT THE Y. For many, the YMCA was where one learned how to swim as a child and for good reason. Since 1885, the Y has been a pioneer in swimming education. Literally millions of people have learned to swim through the YMCA’s perfected program. In Y Swim Lessons participants learn and practice new swimming skills and feel a sense of achievement from mastering something new that they can enjoy the rest of their lives.

MINI SESSIONS Mini Sessions are only offered during the summer. Students will meet 4 days a week for two weeks. The extra practice and repetition in days has shown to progress a swimmer at a faster rate. Mini sessions are also a great way to fit swimming with a busy summer.

Level 1: Shrimp Age: 6-12 months. Program instruction in this class is directed toward helping parents to work with their child to feel more comfortable in the water and to develop basic water safety and swim skills. Each child should always be accompanied by one adult.

Level 2: Inia Age: 13 months -3 years. Program instruction in this class is directed towards helping parents to work with their child. Children will blow bubbles, kick and float while singing songs and interacting with other children and the instructor. Each child should always be accompanied by an adult.

Level 3: Pike W/ Parent Age: 2-5 years. Participants in this class will learn the same skills as our pike level, with the assistance of a parent. Skills include: bubbles, kicking, floating, basic paddle and elementary back stroke. Each child should always be accompanied by one adult.

Level 1: Pike This level is for beginner swimmers. Swimmers will learn to swim the basic crawl stroke on their front, back and sides. They will also be taught kicking skills and putting their face in the water.

Level 2: Eel At this level, swimmers will learn to jump in without assistance, flat on their front and back for 20 seconds with or without an IFD. Swimmers will learn to crawl on their front, back and side 25 yards with an IFD and 15 feet without. PREREQUISITE: swim in their front and back 5 feet without assistance and comfortable with putting their face in.

Level 3: Ray In this class, swimmers will learn to float on their front and back for 30 seconds without floatation; front crawl with rhythmic breathing, side stroke, elementary back stroke, and back crawl 20 feet with assistance and 25 yards w/o. PREREQUISITE: Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards on their front and back with floatation and 20 feet without.

Level 4: Starfish In this class swimmers will learn to swim 25 yards of :front crawl with rotary breathing, back crawl, elementary back stroke, side stroke and breast stroke: PREREQUISITE: Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards on the front, back and side.

Level 1: Polliwog This is the beginning level for school age children and is appropriate for anyone new to the water or with little formal instruction. Children will learn the basic paddle stroke on their front, back and sides, kicking skills and will become comfortable putting their face in the water.

Level 2: Guppy In this class swimmers will learn to front and back float 1-minute; front alternating paddle 25 yards with rhythmic breathing with and without an IFD; front symmetrical paddle 25 yards; back symmetrical paddle 25 yards; back alternating paddle 25 yards; side alternating paddle 25 yards; and kneeling dive. PREREQUISITE: Swim 20 feet on their front and back without assistance, 25 yards with.

Level 3: Minnow In this class swimmers will learn to do a standing dive, basic front crawl with rotary breathing 25 yards, basic breastroke 25 yards, alternating backstroke 25 yards, elementary backstroke 25 yards, side stroke 25 yards and tread water for 3 minutes. PREREQUISITE: Swim 25 yards front crawl face in, 25 yards elementary backstroke and 25 yards alternating backstroke. Comfortable in deep water and putting face in the water.

Level 4: Fish In this class swimmers will learn to tread water for 5 minutes; swim 100 yards front crawl, 50 yards breast stroke with legal kick and arm pulls, swim 100 yards backstroke, swim 100 yards elementary backstroke with glide, swim 100 yards sides stroke with scissor kick, and 25 yards butterfly. PREREQUISITE: Swim 50 yard front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke and side stroke. Understand the basics of breaststroke.

Level 5: Flying Fish In this class, swimmers will learn to swim 100 individual medley with proper starts and turns. Swimmers will also learn how to maintain proper form while swimming 100 yards front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke and side stroke with scissor kick. Swimmers will learn how to swim 50 yards breaststroke and butterfly with fins. PREREQUISITE: Swim 50 yards front crawl, back crawl, side stroke, breaststroke and 25 yards butterfly; floating 6 minutes, tread water 1 minute, standing dive off of deck and flip turns.

Level 6: Shark In this class, swimmers will learn to swim 200 yard individual medley as well as a proper starts and turns. Participants will also learn to swim 100 yards of front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, side stroke, and butterfly with appropriate turns and starts. This is a pre-competitive swim level. PREREQUISITE: Swim 200 yards non-stop and able to complete 50 yards of all strokes.

Level 2: Adult Intermediate This class is for adults who have experience with swimming. Students should be comfortable in the water and able to float, swim 25 feet on their front and back with no assistance and put their face in the water. Participants will learn how to swim proper front crawl, back crawl, side stroke and breast stroke.

Gym And Swim In this great class preschoolers will get the best of both worlds. The class will start on land with fun games, songs, tumbling and sports. After the gym portion of the class, children will then hop in to the pool and receive a swim lesson by our trained swim instructors. Children should come with sneakers, a swim suit under their play clothes and a towel.

Ms. Aerobic MS Water Aerobics is for those individuals who may have limited mobility or need a very low joint impact fitness class. This class is great for those with arthritis, multiple sclerosis or knee or hip replacement. No swim experience needed for this class.

Swim Club Swim club will focus on endurance conditioning and proper form for the competitive swimmer. The club will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays; lead by our trained swim instructors. Goldfish Swim Goldfish swim is for participants who need more individual attention, have diverse abilities and need more practice time. With the small 3:1 student teacher ratio participants receive the attention they need. This class uses equipment appropriate for students needing extra support and assistance. Instructors have experience working with and teaching students with special needs.

Private Swim Private lessons are 30 minute lessons by appointment only. You must sign a contract with your instructor before your lessons start. A copy of your receipt must be attached to the contract. The date and time will be agreed upon by the instructor and must be stated on the contract before classes start.

Buddy Swim Buddy lessons are 1 hour lessons by appointment only. You must sign a contract with your instructor before your lessons start. A copy of your receipt must be attached to the contract. The date and time will be agreed upon by the instructor and must be stated on the contract before classes start. The Y’s before and after school programs are designed to

meet the developmental needs of children with an emphasis on experimental learning, social and emotional support and promotion of healthy living while meeting the needs of working parents and their families. Learn more with in the center and on our website’s childcare and education section.

Dance Variety/Fusion Participants will learn choreography and rehearse for any upcoming performance opportunities. They will learn all genres of dance with a concentration on ballet and hip hop fundamentals. Classes meet both days of the week

YBA Summer Clinic Participants will learn all the fundamentals of basketball such as dribbling , passing, shooting, team defense and offense. They will practice their new skills by scrimmaging regularly, allowing the coaches to focus on their individual needs.

Need a break? Check come to one of our monthly Parent’s Night Out events held one Friday a month at 6:30PM. Children are entertained with swimming, crafts, games and movies while their parents take the night off. Check out our calendar of events for dates.

Multi Sports Clinic Our famous Multi Sports Camp provide campers with a fun-packed and enjoyable time in an environment where they develop a wider range of sporting skills while experiencing 5-6 sports in one week. They also develop teamwork and interpersonal skills. Teams rotate sports throughout the week, participating in at least three sports per day. Each week concludes with a field day with exciting competitions. Sports included are: tennis, flag football, soccer, baseball and volleyball.

Weekly Dates:Week 1: July 20-July 24 Week 2: August 10-August 14

Soccer Club Our coach has 30+ years of experience playing and coaching soccer to youth and adults. The clinics are open for beginners to advanced. All participants will be learning, practicing and improving their soccer skills in: dribbling, passing, trapping and shooting. Scrimmages and league games will be played on Saturdays. Players will need to purchase shin guards and shoes. Practice balls, nets and jerseys will be supplied.

Karate Beginner Some physical contact involved. Students will need to purchase/wear dojos by second week of class. Registration is required. Students who pass belt levels will qualify to compete in tournaments.

Karate Intermediate/Advanced Earn advanced level belt rankings, spar, and depending on the level, compete in tournaments and championships! Some physical contact involved. Students will need to purchase/wear dojos by second week of class.THE Y. SO MUCH MORE™

MEMBER VALUE FITNESS CLASSESBeing a member at the Y always has more value. As a member, you have access to a wide variety of fitness classes offered daily. These classes are only offered to members and are included in your membership. Download or app or check out our schedule in the center for days and times offered.

Aqua Blast This class uses the resistance of the water combined with the floatation devices to create a total body workout. You are not required to know how to swim and the class is great for all beginner and intermediate exercise levels.

Liquid Motion This class uses the resistance of the water combined with the floatation devices to create a total body workout. You are not required to know how to swim and the class is great for all beginner and intermediate exercise levels. Evening classes are a higher impact class.

Body Stretch and Stretch Learn stretches that will increase flexibility & general fitness while enjoying spiritual music.

SPECIALTY FITNESS CLASSESBody Sculpting 101- Men/Women Personal coaching and instruction. Body Building/Sculpting using free weights and body weights. Coached by our own "natural" body builders: Claudia Hervey & Ty Bynum. Classes are limited to three students to ensure proper form and results.

Boot Camp oot camp is a result driven, total body conditioning program utilizing a military-style format and progressive exercise drills. Participants will build strength, cardio endurance, flexibility and power. This in an intermediate to advanced formatted class.

Grit Small group training with a specialty trained coach who will take you through proven 30 minute high intensity interval training workouts. Grit features three unique team training programs that will push you to your max and beyond.

Kettlebells Kettlebell Class consist of a full-body warm-up, and progresses into practicing the foundation and fundamentals of Kettlebell swings, lifts, presses, squats, halos, Turkish get-ups, half-get-ups, and various moves to increase strength, improve cardiovascular endurance, enhance and improve flexibility, to ensure your success in losing body fat.

R & B Line Dancing This class is for all ages!! Come out and try our high-energy, low-impact, calorie-burning R & B line dance class.

TRX Fusion Training Be ready for TRX Intervals combined with ground based cardio drills. This class moves you through stations combining TRX with kettlebells, medicine balls, battle ropes. If you are ready to step up your workouts, this is the class for you.

Run & Walk Club For members and our friends in the community who want to learn, perfect or participate in a structured running (and walking) program. Coached by experienced, successful running experts, Personal Trainers, and CARA (Road Scholars) Pace Coaches, you will learn proper conditioning, running (walking) techniques and nutrition tips for successful conditioning or competition.

According to American Council of Exercise, novice and veteran exercisers alike are working with personal trainers as a means of getting and staying healthy. Investing in a trainer addresses 2 key areas with which we all struggle: motivation and consistency. Where do I begin? Simply come in or call and complete a Personal Training Request Form and submit it to the Member Services Desk. Within 24 hours, you will be contacted by a member of the Health & Fitness staff and assigned a trainer. Already know who you want to sign up with? Just indicate your trainer preference on the same form. Registration is required. Sessions are by appointment only and approximately 1 hour long.

Personal Training Your certified trainer will design a program specifically to meet your needs. With individual attention, you and your trainer will work to achieve your fitness goals.

Buddy Personal Training Don't want to train alone? Maybe you want to train with someone special. Buddy personal training is a great way to work out and spend quality time with a friend or loved one. Fee includes both participants.

Group Personal Training Group training is our best value, the Group Training Program allows you to share a personal training session with 3-4 other people over 2, 4, or 6 weeks. Whether you and your friends want to train for that big race or you want to get that wedding party into great shape, the Group Training Program is the place to start. Each group will meet at a time that works for the whole group. Fees are per participant.
