Eisenhower’s New Look
• Eisenhower wanted “more bang for the buck” in the military. He emphasized a smaller Army and a larger Nuclear arsenal.

• Fear of massive retaliation stopped both sides from using their Nuclear weapons.
U-2 incident
• The United States sent the U-2 spy plane over the Soviet Union.
