“I'm currently reading Haruki Murakami's After the Quake. It is a collection of six stories, all pivoting around the catastrophic Kobe earthquake, not in a direct way, but rather in becoming brutally aware of the fragility of living. Murakami has a way of delivering stories that are tight in descrip-tion, restrained even. But at the same time, it hits the proverbial nails on the heads; every word seems measured and orchestrated. The stories are almost poetic.”
