I am proud to present Boise State University’s Executive MBA program. Our distinctive program and curriculum are designed to develop innovative leaders who will shape the business enterprises and public policy of the future. Through participation in this program, you will gain the expertise and self-assurance to transform yourself and your organization while growing your network in one of the most vibrant and livable cities in the West. You will learn in parallel from our world-class faculty, a highly selective cohort of peers, and a personal executive coach.
The 2013 EMBA class will occupy the new 118,000 square foot, Micron Business and Economics Building which opened last July. The top floor of this magnificent building is devoted to graduate programs and EMBA has its own state-of-the-art classroom with private team rooms. This impressive facility will transform how faculty teach and how you learn.
I look forward to your participation in our Executive MBA Program.
Letter from the Dean
Patrick Shannon Dean, College of Business and Economics

The Vietnam residency was a true
“cultural immersion” with a very well
thought-out agenda . I was able to use
that knowledge and experience to help
provide insights to my company when
working on our future strategy .
—Marie Tadlock, Class of 2010LaserJet Strategic Planner at Hewlett-Packard
The International Residency gives you a deeper, first-hand understanding of the managerial, political, and cultural concepts that infuence and drive international business.
International Residency
Our economic future depends on what happens globally and business leaders need to know how it happens. Rather than just reading, hearing, or talking about the difficulties and benefits of conducting international business, you’ll do it. You will learn what it takes most business people months or years to learn during your International Residency week in Vietnam. It’s a unique chance to conduct and experience international business on the front lines of the future.

Leadership does not occur in a vacuum and neither does the Boise State EMBA program. Teamwork is central.
Strength of Team Learning
My study group was composed of a variety
of personalities from different industries and
disciplines . After working with one company,
in one industry for 16 years, it was a breath
of fresh air to hear new perspectives and
broaden my view of business .
—Kayce McEwan, Class of 2011Director, Corporate Human Resources at J.R. Simplot Company
From day one you will work with a team of peers to share ideas, gain practical insights, improve strategic-thinking skills and enhance your network.
Your study team will unite participants from varied backgrounds so you can benefit from the broad experiences of others. Synergy begins in the classroom and expands to the workplace.

Innovative Curriculum
Results Driven. When setting up the curriculum for this program, we asked employers what they valued most in their executives. Their overwhelming response was they need their leaders to have a better ability to solve multi-faceted, unstructured, messy problems. Business opportunities and challenges do not come neatly packaged in pre-labeled, discipline-specific boxes and neither does the EMBA program.
Multi-disciplinary and integrated. The Boise State EMBA program builds upon a multi-disciplinary, integrated curriculum that best replicates real-world experiences. Our consortium partnerships with regional organizations bring hands-on experience and insight into the classroom.
Real-world learning environment. EMBA program topics and projects combine multiple perspectives—enabling you to learn in the same environment in which you work.
YEAR TWO
YEAR ONE
ENTRY
Family support and involvement were some of most enjoyable and
helpful aspects of the EMBA program . Having my husband and kids
included in functions throughout the year helped them understand
and accept the amount of time I had to devote to the program .
—Trisha Stevens Lamb, Class of 2008 Director of Career Start MBA Program at Boise State University
9
The Boise State EMBA
program is demanding
and rewarding. The EMBA
staff knows the rigors of
the program and helps
you succeed by providing
support in several areas.
Integrated Support
Program prep available to build confidence. Before class even starts we guide you through a pre-program self-assessment, and if needed, provide tutorial primers to ensure you are prepared for the EMBA program.
VIP Service. We register you for classes, deliver textbooks and other class materials, coordinate meals and validate parking for class sessions so you do not have to waste time on logistics.
Family Support. Your success is highly dependent on support from those close to you. Thus, we host events throughout the two-year program for spouses, significant others, and children. These events provide a setting for everyone to get to know each other, share the EMBA experience, and have fun outside of class sessions and team meetings.
