Job: Working for a State Hospital
Situation: Going into a new job, and not knowing what to expect from it.
Say● “I was given a manual before
the job, so I knew the policies and procedures before I even started.”
● “Books can only teach you so much, the rest is hands on.”
● “I went into my job not knowing what I needed to do.”
● “Working with behavioral kids, you can not necessarily prepare yourself.”
● “ I guess I was prepared as much as I could be, but I wasn’t at the same time.
DoI did not have the opportunity to observe the person that I had interviewed.
Think● She is stressed not
knowing what to totally prepare for.
● She is nervous that school didn’t fully prepare her for the work force.
● She is doesn’t think she is prepared for the work force.
● She doesn’t know what she is preparing for.
● She is worried that she will fail.
Feel● She needs to be
prepared for change.● Many people are often
nervous preparing for the work force.
● She doesn’t think that school prepared her enough for her career.
● She would be confident with more hands on training.
● Working at a new place stresses her out.
Problem Statement and Insight. Tina, is a young, inexperienced, hardworking, caring teacher that is getting ready to start work. She needs a way to move through the transition more easily.
