From Page 1He was robbed of all his be-

longings and stabbed all over the body.

News of the killing quickly spread in the village, and in no time angry community members went out hunting for identified suspects, who are believed to be part of a gang that is terrorising the community. The alleged suspects, who are believed to be young boys, were nowhere to be found. The community members then chose to vent their anger by burning homes. They set two on fire the same night and one on Tuesday morning at Tshidzete, a nearby village.

The angry residents barricaded the roads with big rocks, old car scraps, trees and bricks.

The girls believed to be work-ing in cahoots with the suspects

were also identified and dragged before the community, where they allegedly confessed and also told the angry residents the whereabouts of the suspects. The area has been tense since then, with the police having running battles with rampaging youths throughout the night. Tear gas and rubber bullets were fired and some youths were stoning the police.

The dead man was described by his family as a very humble think tank who would not even hurt a fly. "My cousin was a very intelligent person who was respected by the whole family. He worked for a local hotel, but resigned to further his studies at Univen. He went to Pretoria last week and he told us he would be surprising us on Monday. We were looking forward to seeing

the surprise when we received the surprising and shocking news," said Ms Takalani Madima, the deceased's cousin.

Madima said they believed there was more to the killing than robbery. "Look, they forced him out of his car to a nearby house and cut his throat before taking his body back to his car, where it was left in the passenger seat. We are greatly saddened by this killing, and we just hope that the wheels of justice move fast and that the suspects are quickly brought to book," she said.

Police spokesperson W/O Solly Mukhola expressed shock about the killing. He said the situation was calm at the village but roads were still blockaded. “We have opened a case of arson in respect of a two-roomed house that was burnt by the protesters.”

Archbishop Elias Miriri (left) greets the congregation before his address. With him in the photograph is his brother, Mr David Mureri (right) and the Chief Whip of the Vhembe District, Cllr Tshifhiwa Dali.

Communications Minister Faith Muthambi has com-mended the leadership of the United African Apostolic Church (UAAC) and urged it to continue upholding African traditions.

She was the guest speaker during a conference held at the church’s headquarters at Ha-Mavhunga in Nzhelele. More than 100 000 members in their blue and white regalia from all over Southern Africa attended the conference. It was, among others, attended by King Toni Mphephu Ramabulana and several traditional leaders

and mayors from the Vhembe district.

Muthambi said that it was befitting for the church, which was built on cultural founda-tions, that the conference be held during Heritage Month. "It is the only church that propagates African traditions and culture. The government associates itself with the church as it is the one of the few churches that are close to the people." She added that, besides the spiritual needs of the people, the UAAC also initiated projects that alleviated poverty among the communities and it also assisted those affected by

the scourge of HIV/Aids.Mphephu Ramabulana said

that there cannot be a distinction between the church and royalty. “We have been strategically placed by God to lead his peo-ple and what we need from the church are prayers that we lead His people in a just and fair fashion,” he said.

In the main address of the event, the leader of the church, Archbishop Elias Miriri, urged the church and community to join hands in the fight against police killings. He also urged the members of the church to be wary of false prophets.

Death hoax shocks Prifi x and his fansshocks Prifi x and his fansshocks Prifi x

“I am not dead, The hoax on social media announcing the death of talented VenRap artist Pri-fi x, aka Tendani Mathaga, has shocked thousands of his fans.

“I just want to set the record straight: I am not dead, I am alive,” Prifi x said on Monday. “People should focus on the positive side of life and stop posting nonsense on social me-dia, trying to taint the image of other people.”

The 21-year-old singer had switched off his mobile phone when he was attending a lecture last Thursday afternoon. Unbeknownst to him some unidentifi ed person(s) hacked the Facebook account of his manager, Raymond Mulalo Tshivhidzo (well-known as Lavhutanu Li Do Swika), and posted a status on Prifi x’s wall, announcing the young singer’s death.

The world immediately resonated with the loss of a short-lived, gone-too-soon talent. Fans from all over believed that Prifi x was dead.

“This was awful,” said Tshivhidzo. “I had left my phone while I attended to some duties, but when I returned I found around 40 missed calls. People wanted to fi nd out how this young talent had exited this world.”

He then opened his Facebook account and found over 180 messages in his inbox. “They were all curious, shocked and expressing words of condo-lences,” he said. “It was disturbing. This thing had really put my relationship with Prifi x to the test.”

Prifi x told Limpopo Mirror that he was shocked the moment he switched on his phone. “Voice messages had fi lled up my inbox; everyone wanted

to confi rm that I was really dead,” he said. “It was everywhere on social media and even in the streets everyone was speaking about my death. ‘Prifi x is dead!’ I was both terrifi ed and horrifi ed.”

He said that his parents were very disturbed by the rumours about his death. “We had to sit down with his parents, because they were hurt,” said Tshivhidzo. Fans of the artist were clearly relieved when hearing that the rumours are not true. “Rikhou livhuwa mudzimu … (We thank God that you are still alive). Why bad things happen to good people mah vhanna,” said Fulufhelo Mukhuba.

Another Facebook fan, Tshifhiwa Lenin Rambau Lenin, said: “Prifi x ndi sole ahuna ane a nga mu wisa. A si vhathu vhothe vho no tama Prifi x a tshi tshila. Vha litsheni vha ambe zwine vha funa nga Prifi x. Tshivenda tshi ri thini li si na tshithu li a rasa nga maanda. (Prifi x is a soldier and nobody can

bring him down. Not everyone wants to see Prifi x alive. Let them say whatever they want about Prifi x. The Tshivenda idiom says that an empty vessel makes a loud noise.)”

However, it seemed that the death hoax had also boosted Prifi x’s fan base. Azwie V. Mbedzi, on Facebook, said: “Fame though … I didn’t know you but now I do. Thanks to your so called death ...”

On 17 September, Prifi x updated his Facebook status, refuting rumours that he was dead. He sounded unhappy and angry. He wrote: “I’m Not Dead! And For Everyone Blaming My Manager Lavhutanu For The Reason That His Account Was Hacked, F@#k You! The Man Plays A Role Of Be-ing My Father; He Will Never Do Such A Thing!!!”

Prifi x is famous for songs such as Born and Raised, Vhutshilo ho shanduka, and Rudzani. He hails from Mapate village, south of Thohoyandou.

Local authors gain insight to new trends

Mayor celebrates birthday with children

Stakeholders who attended the recent Copyrights and Literature Production Seminar expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the event.

The seminar, an initiative of the Pan South Africa Language Board (PANSALB), was attend-ed by authors, post-graduate stu-dents, teachers, lecturers, offi cials from the Departments of Educa-tion and Sport, Arts and Culture. It was held at Porschevilla Hotel at Muledane outside Thohoyan-dou last Thursday.

Veteran academic and author Prof Asnath Khuba said it was worthwhile and an eye opener to most of the writers. “As authors, we have to move with the times.

We started writing many years ago and so many things have changed in this fi eld. We have to work in line with assisting the child at school and our readers at large and there are new set standards that we have to follow as authors.” She added that they had benefi ted a lot and that they would put what they had learnt to use in their next projects. “We also learnt a lot about copyright, which we did not know and that led us to be exploited in our trade,” she said.

Seminar organiser Mr Lu-funo Ndlovu, PANSALB’s manager for literature and media nationally, said there was a need for such a seminar.

“This is a fi rst of its kind and we started here, but we will also take it to the other provinces. We are very humbled to have veterans like Prof Asnath Khuba and renowned author Mr Muloiwa. Our aim is to develop Tshivenda literature and align it with the new curriculum to make sure our pupils understand litera-ture issues,” he said. Another coordinator, Ms Joyce Madiba , PANSALB Limpopo’s provin-cial manager, said there was a new Copyright Amendment Bill which they had discussed with all stakeholders to have their input. “Authors also have to know what is expected of them and this is the right platform,” she added.

The mayor of Musina, Cllr Mihloti Ramoyada, celebrat-ed her 43rd birthday with children and senior citizens at Lesley Manyathela Stadium on Monday. Ramoyada said that she decided to celebrate her birthday with the children because they were the future leaders of society.

“Children are innocent and they have a special place in my heart. It is always good to make them happy because the happier they are, the more they enjoy life. I know how good it is to be loved

and appreciated.”She added that the Bible said

that people should respect their parents.

“To me, every senior citizen is my parent. They deserve to be appreciated because they are the foundation of our lives. We are what we are because of the contributions of these people. Their wisdom is good because they advise us, based on their life experiences. That is why I made sure that they form part of this day.”

A pensioner and former teach-

er, Mrs Singita Madinginye, who taught Ramoyada in Grade 1, said that they never thought that Ram-oyada would one day become the fi rst citizen of the town. “She grew up like other kids and we are happy that we have produced a good leader who continues to put our town on the map. We are really very proud of her.”

During the formal programme, pastors from different denom-inations prayed for the mayor and motivational speakers sang praises throughout the event.

Chief Ratshibvumo II Rambuda the new ruler of the Rambuda communityKing Toni Mphephu Ram-abulana expressed the hope that the installation of a young new senior traditional leader, Ratshibvumo II Rambuda, for the Ha-Rambuda communi-ties of Mutale will help speed up development in the areas under his jurisdiction.

“We hope that Chief Ram-buda, with his good education, will inspire the other young traditional leaders. We call on him to use his education to assist the government in ensuring that his communities get services and that the community poverty alleviation projects will receive priority,” said Mphephu Ram-abulana.

The new leader was installed

during an event at the Tshiwan-gamatembele sports grounds on Saturday. He succeeded his late father, Chief Azwihangwisi Rambuda, who passed away in December 2013.

During the event, Madambi Rambuda was installed as ndu-mi, while Nakisani Rambuda was installed as makhadzi.

MEC Makoma Makhuru-petje, the Provincial MEC for the Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settle-ments and Traditional Affairs, said that the new chief must as-sist the government in identify-ing service delivery challenges in his area. “It is also expected that the new chief should form a strong partnership with the local

municipality. Where possible he can also participate in the council debates. We hope that, by working together with the government, the new chief will help in addressing his people’s access to employment, job cre-ation and other socio-economic projects to advance their inter-ests,” MEC Makhurupetje said.

Makhurupetje urged the com-munities under his jurisdiction to give the new chief all the support he needs. Representing the 42 chiefs of Ha-Rambuda, Chief Nthatheni Lambani told the gathering that, in the Ram-buda communities, there were no good roads and that the tribal council buildings were old and dilapidated.

“We must be proud of who we are”

Community to honour Tshifhiwa Muofhe

Traditional songs and dance performances were the or-der of the day during Dzata Heritage Day celebrations at Dzanani last Friday.

The ceremony was attend-ed by Limpopo Premier Stan Mathabatha, Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba, mayors, traditional leaders and members of the community.

King Tony Mphephu Ram-abulala praised community members who turned out in

The third Tshifhiwa Muofhe memorial lecture, which takes place tomorrow (Saturday), is ex-pected to draw an array of speakers and notable friends of the late activisit.

The Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, will give the keynote address.

The event takes place at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Southern Africa at Shayandima.

Tshifhiwa Isaac Muofhe was killed by the Venda homeland police on 12 November 1981 after MK guerrillas bombed the Sibasa Police station, killing a few policemen on the night of 26 October, 1981.

Muofhe, who was known to have campaigned against the homeland system and had assisted a lot of young people to join MK, was arrested with many others on 10 November. He was found dead in a cell at Matatshe prison two days after his arrest. At the time of his death, he left a baby girl, Mu-langa, who was only six months old, and his wife Tendani, an academic of note both in South Africa and the Americas, where she lived for many years.

According to one of the organizers, Mr Kenny Mathivha, the first memorial lecture was addressed by former Premier Adv Ngoako Ramathlodi and Muofe’s close friends Bishop Ndangane-ni Phaswana and Dr Tshenuwani Farisani. “The 2012 memorial lecture took a nostalgic turn when the crowds started at Beuster Mission in Maungani, drove to his grave site and to his former house in Thohoyandou, and drove to the infamous torture centre at Sibasa and thereafter to Matatshe Prison.”

The second memorial lecture was given by Rev Chris Nissen, who was an Evangelical Presbyterian minister at Vhufuli. He later became an MEC under the ANC administration in the Western Cape.

Mathivha said that Dr Farisani, former MEC, Speaker and ANC MP, confirmed that the lecture had grown bigger and better in the memory of a dear friend and fearless comrade.

large numbers in sup-port of the ceremo-ny. He commended the Vhavenda and the government for the joint effort to pre-serve culture and to promote African tra-ditional norms. He said culture was one of the main human tools that should not be left behind during the pro-cess of transformation.

“We must be proud of who we are, instead of being copycats of other peoples’ cul-tures. We must learn to love and appreciate our history, tradition and morality, because those are the basis

from which a strong nation devel-ops. Our indigenous languages should also be preserved for the benefit of the young generation and the community at large,” said Mphephu.

Premier Mathabatha said that Dzata was the place which, for many decades, served to preserve the rich history of the Vhavenda people and played host to such great leaders as Dimbanyika and others. “We have got no doubt that the heritage site of Dzata will

continue to inspire our efforts of nation building and national reconciliation as an integral part of our transformation effort. We believe that by placing our heritage at the centre of devel-opment, we are bringing in the most important ingredient for success of our people in their forward march to a better life,” he said.

Dignitaries also had the op-portunity to taste delicious in-digenous food during the event.

Farisani also con-firmed that plans are afoot to rename the Matatshe Prison after Muofhe. “We are wait-ing for all processes to be finalized and are very excited by these developments,” Farisani added.

The ANC Tshifhi-wa Muofhe branch in Shayandima confirmed they are expecting more than 1000 people, who will include student chapters from the Uni-versity of Venda and other colleges.

Dr Alunamutwe Randitsheni receives his doctorate from Prof Edward Nesamvuni.

By Elmon Tshikhudo

Doctor’s degree for Luthern clericDean Alunamutwe Randitsheni (50), a prom-inent voice against ritual murders in the Vhembe Region, achieved one of his most cherished dreams on Friday, when the Uni-versity of Venda conferred a PhD in African studies on him.

Randitsheni is head of the Devhula Leboa Circuit of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and

also chairperson of the South African Council of Churches in Vhembe.

Touched by the pain and suffering of victims of ritual murders and their families, Randitsheni em-barked on research aimed at ending the scourge.

He was one of the 500 students who received qualifi cations in different disciplines during the graduation ceremony held at the university audi-torium. A record number of 15 doctorates were conferred by the university’s chancellor and for-mer deputy president, Mr Kgalema Mothlanthe.

Randitsheni’s thesis: An investigation into ritual murders in the Vhembe District of the Limpopo Province of South Africa involved in-depth interviews with stakeholders and family members of victims of muti murders. “The killing of innocent people has left many families without breadwinners, some with only children left to fend for themselves after their parents were killed. The aim of the research was to fi nd out the root causes of the killings, the people behind the killings and how this could be stopped."

He added that the research established that those involved believed the body parts would boost their power base and authority, increase support of members in organizations, attract wealth and increase socio-economic status in the community. Randitsheni said those involved in such practices included traditional healers, tradi-tional leaders, religious leaders, political leaders and businesspeople, among others.

“The fi ndings will be of help to the community as we have come up with proposals and a training manual that will help educate people to change their values, attitudes and practices regarding ritual murders. The manual is also envisaged to be used in other countries in challenging ritual murder practices,” he said.

“Civil structures in touch with citizens”Emerging community media houses were given an opportunity to market their services to mu-nicipalities, government departments and the private sector during the Musina Municipality Communicators' Forum meeting which was held at the municipality’s council chambers last Friday.

Musina Municipality's communications man-ager, Wilson Dzebu, said the networking session was important because there was a need for media houses and their clients to understand each other on how they operated. “Communicators will do very little to communicate without the assistance from the media. It is now time that we should see each other as partners, rather than viewing each other as antagonists. As a product of community media myself, I know the challenges that young journalists come across on a daily basis. These challenges need all of us to resolve.”

Veteran communicator and now head of commu-nications in the provincial department of education Dr Naledzani Rasila delivered an informative pre-sentation on strengthening the war against violent protests through effective communication. “It is important for us as communicators to know why people embark on violent protests. We should also share information with community members on the channels to follow when they protest. Protestors must also take into account that the constitution highlights obligations, including not to incite vi-olence, to respect others' rights and not to violate the security of the country.”

Among other solutions to avert violent protests, Rasila suggested that civic structures should always be in touch with their citizens. “Traditional leaders should not distance themselves from their subjects and all community concerns should be addressed as urgently as possible. The government should also communicate successes timeously and inform the electorate of any challenges whenever they arise.”

Juvenile prisoners were urged to stay away from crime after being released.

Centre has a “mandate to rehabilitate”The Thohoyandou Correc-tional Centre held a successful campaign to prepare juvenile prisoners and to equip them with wisdom to prevent a re-lapse into criminality after be-ing released from prison.

“Even if you had committed crime in a group, tell yourself that you committed crime alone, because that can help you admit your sin or wrongdoing,” were the words of Nkhumeleni Mu-tavhi from the Vhembe District Municipality.

The campaign was also aimed at promoting the self-esteem of those in prison. “Being in prison does not mean that you are evil and that your God has rejected you,” Mutavhi said. “You (of-fenders) need to accept that you have committed crime and do the right thing. Do not violate the rights of other people.”

According to the Thohoyan-dou Management Area's internal communications offi cer, Thom-pho Nesane, the knowledge the offenders gained at this juncture

will help them when they are released. They are encouraged to refrain from leading a life of crime by staying out of groups and to discover the purpose of life. “We don’t have a dustbin of people as a department, but we have a mandate to rehabilitate of-fenders, so that they can become better people in their communi-ties and help their communities with the skills they have acquired while they were incarcerated. This will also help to avoid and minimize relapsing,” said the

head of the female and juvenile centre, Vho-Joyce Rambuda.

Avhatakali Damba, a social worker, said: “When you (offenders) are released, you need to know the good people that you can associate with, so that you do not commit crime again and live a better life”.

A juvenile prisoner, Mandla Ndove, said he was unreservedly conveying his sincere regret to the community he had wronged. “I want the community to accept me back when I am released,” said Ndove. He concluded by saying, “I am learning from my mistakes and I need the youth to know that prison is not the home of a person. Go to school, stay away from alcohol and live a better life.”

Mpho Nefale

The affectionate monikers Vho-Mpho Wee!, Linoni and Lijantibai all refer to one person – Mpho Nefale. He is a veteran, legendary presenter at PhalaPhala FM.

He has garnered himself a legion of fans through the decades and he is celebrated by many listeners of PhalaPhala FM in the country. He has endeared himself to many.

Nefale was only 19-years old when he joined Radio Venda as a junior presenter in 1984. “We were very young and really felt quite humbled when we could do something different from teaching or policing, as these were the only career choices we had at the time,” he reminisces.

Contrary to popular belief, Nefale did not start radio as a pro-gramme presenter, but he started off as a newsreader.

“I have always been a very fl uent reader and it was not a surprise even to my classmates that I was reading news on radio.

But during those days, one couldn’t be a newsread-

er only and survive on radio. We had to be versatile and master everything. That was when they realized that there was more to me than reading the news. I became a presenter in 1987, doing the Morning Drive Show,” he explained.

As he established himself as a presenter, the name Mpho Nefale became synonymous with great-ness as the fame was accompa-nied by a number of accolades. They include Best DJ 1994 and 1995, SABC Limpopo Best Presenter, Tshivenda Language Development Award, Vhembe District Municipality Awards and many more.

He said he would never stop being the voice most loved by his listeners. “I was born the man of the people and only God knows when I will rest. Right now I

am still playing my part in growing three beautiful

brands – Phalaphala FM, Majantibai and Vha Ndilani,” he summed it up.

His interests include reading, watching

soccer, and listening to good music.

Theological College presents course in ecclesiologyPeople who are interested in the nature of the church are afforded the opportunity to enrol for a module in ecclesiology (study of the church) with Mukhanyo Distance.

In the course of about 13 sessions, the follow-ing subjects will be discussed: Why the church is important, names and Scriptural metaphors of the church, attributes of the church from the ancient fathers, traits of a healthy church, church as missional and nurturing community, worship and fellowship, church discipline, leadership and church government, means of grace, baptism, the Lord’s supper, and the Holy Spirit and the church.

Dr Jack Whytock from Mukhanyo is the lecturer. His lectures will be followed on DVD while well-trained Mukhanyo Distance facilitators will assist the students. All students who attend the module will receive a certificate of attendance.

The study forms part of Mukhanyo Distance’s diploma course in theology, but students are invited to enrol for this single module. Mukhanyo Distance enables students to receive relevant, high-quality, holistic, affordable in-service distance training in theology. It provides Bible-based training oppor-tunities and facilities to church leaders for church and community development in Africa.

The course also develops church leadership and administrative skills in order to inspire kingdom vision and to support the growth and development of churches. An important aspect is to equip lead-ers, office bearers and members of churches to understand and apply the Bible correctly in their own environment.

Mukhanyo Distance invites everybody who is

interested to attend the first lecture free of charge at 10:00 on Saturday, 3 October.

The venue is Theocentric College at Matsila Village.

The cost involved is R200 per mod-ule. A number of bursaries are also available, which will enable students to study for R100 per module. This

amount includes all study material. Students follow by DVD the same classes that full-time Mukhanyo students attend.

Interested people can phone Dr Edmund de Beer (083 391 1065), Rev Nathaniël Muhadi (083 557 2367) or Rev Robert Makungo (082 441 4687) for more information.

When she started writing at the age of 11, many people wrote her off as someone wasting her time.

Now, at the age of 20, all the hard work has paid off for Venus Mkhabela from Muchipisi Village in Malamulele and she has released a motivational book that has people of her village and the entire Malamulele area talking.

Her debut book, Unstoppable Generation: Reaching forward for what is ahead, was released in the village over the weekend. The book launch was attended by young people from most schools around Malamulele and members of different churches. It is the fi rst time in the history of the village that someone organised an event to release a book there. Mkhabela is an early bloomer. At the age of 20, she is also already a pastor of the Battle of Souls Ministry under senior Pastor Tshembhani

Yingwani. Venus is the third-born daugh-ter of Magezi Phineas and his wife, Joyce

Mkhabela. According to her, she was called at an early age to be a minister of the Gospel of Christ. “I am very grateful to God that I was able to discover my gift as an author at an early age,” she said. Her high school principal, Aubrey Mabasa of EPP Mhinga High School, said Venus showed potential while still at school. “The book will go a long way in motivating rural kids that, irrespective of their background, they can go far in life,” he said. She matriculated at EPP Mhinga in 2013 and is currently studying for a diploma in Chemical Engineering.

Venus said the release of the new book set her up as a motivational speaker, something that she had been doing as a pastor. “God used me to change lives through my preaching and prayers and now he will change more lives through my written word,” she said. She said she was inspired by the late pastor Myles Munroe’s works. She loves writing short stories and poems. She said her book was a motivational book that encour-aged people to develop their inner selves before showing their talents to the world, and not to try and fl y until their wings were strong enough. “It will instil discipline, among many other virtues, among young people,” she said.

First book for young pastor

Albumcelebrates

With the existing animosity between the Vhav-enda and VaTsonga emanating from the mu-nicipal demarcation issues taking place in the area, a young man has come up with a remedy to change the situation around.

Muyahavho Nonyana (23) or Garveynator as he is known in music circles, a third-year Political Science student at Univen, came up with a sizzling album, Sendekela.

The 10-track album, the third by this versatile artist, fuses the Vhavenda and VaTsonga cultures together and brings a new breeze in music circles. The beat is XiTsonga and the lyrics are in Tshiv-enda and Sepedi. It also has some Selobedu songs.

“I worked hard on this album and believe it is the best I have produced so far. The music arena is now stagnant and needs change. There is too much repetition here and I am bringing change in the industry. Besides trying to forge peace

between ethnic groups in Limpopo, I wanted to show that cultures can merge and that they are dynamic, which means they are subject to change over time,” said Nonyana, who hails from Chavani village outside Louis Trichardt.

He added that he also timed the release to coincide with Heritage Month “to show that our culture is of the utmost importance.”

Nonyana said the album was doing well in the market, with many community radio stations playing most of the tracks. He said that he realised his potential for singing while at Tshikhuthula Secondary School in 2008. He was later a member of the village choir, Mukondeni Holy Mission.

He recorded his debut album, Wega, in 2012, followed by Kokwani in 2013.

He and Solomon Manganye composed all the songs on Sendekela and it was produced by Madumelani.

Royal council members, elders, youths dressed in their cultural regalia, Chief Makumbane, Queen Thinawanga Makumbane, Nyavhumbwa Wa Dagaila's Livhuwani Ngwana and others pose for a picture during the event.

Plans are at an advanced stage for the building of a cultural school that will cater for youths from the royal family as well as children from the surrounding areas at Tshisahulu.

The announcement was made by Tshisahulu senior traditional leader Chief Thivhulawi Makum-bane during the Tshisahulu royal youth heritage celebrations held at the Tshisahulu royal palace last weekend.

Hundreds of youths from all 19 houses of the Makumbane Royal family attended the event, which was organised by Queen Thi-nawanga Makumbane, who felt the need for the family to come together and get to know each

other. Elders and royal council members also gave support to the event. The family tree was also read and explained during the ceremony.

Well-known cultural cham-pion Ms Livhuwani Ngwana of Nyavhumbwa Wa Dagaila Cultural Village spoke about the importance of culture and how the royal youths should conduct themselves in their daily lives.

A traditional leader and for-mer mayor of Thulamela, Chief Thivhulawi Makumbane, said in his speech that there would be no heritage if parents did not become responsible and take charge of their children’s lives. “Our coun-try is rotten to the core; youths

roam the streets aimlessly and engaging in unbecoming activ-ities. We have the responsibility as parents to restore what is being taken away from our children by teaching them traditional dances and our culture, which is fast fad-ing away.” Makumbane further indicated that there was a need for the cultural school as it would teach the young ones their roots and their identity. He said each of the royal council meetings would also focus on the building of a cultural school. “We cannot wait any longer. Ngwana is doing a good job here and has volun-teered to help us in this respect, and we cannot let this opportunity slip from us,” he said.

Mother angry with postponement of case

Ms Veronica Khosa and her little girl, Katlego (2).

The blind mother of little Katlego Khosa (2) of Mufeba, Ms Veronica Khosa, is not happy about the postpone-ment of the case her little girl is involved in.

The toddler had sustained serious head injuries while visiting her aunt at Ha-Maila in September last year. The case was recently again postponed, due to absence of the accused's lawyer.

The accused, Ivy Mulaudzi, from Maila village, was granted bail of R1 500 bail in the Tshitale Mag-istrate’s Court on 19 February, after spend-ing six months in the police cells.

She gave birth to a baby girl at Vhufuli Hospital while she was in the care of the Tho-hoyandou Correction-al Services in Febru-ary and requested the court to grant her bail as she wanted to take the baby to traditional medical practitioners to treat a type of illness that could not be cured by modern doctors, according to her.

The spokesper -son for the Makhado police, Const Irene Radzilani, confirmed that Mulaudzi was pregnant when she

was arrested and she gave birth to a baby girl at the Vhufuli Hospital on 18 February, not in the police cells.

Two months ago, the Wa-terval Magistrate’s Court post-poned Mulaudzi’s case due to the absence of her lawyer, who is known only as ‘Rambau’. On 3 August and 1 September, the case was postponed again for the same reason. She is due to appear before the court again on

25 September.Katlego’s blind mother, Ve-

ronica Khosa, said it was diffi-cult and it looked as if there was “a plot to kill the case. Although I’m happy that my little girl is back home, I want to see the court prosecute Mulaudzi. My little girl spent a few months in Mankweng Hospital’s intensive care unit. Instead of saving my monthly grant, I’m spending it on Katlego’s medication.”

Police clamp down on illegal squatters

RDP houses still “under construction”

The Makhado Police launched an operation last week to clean the surrounding area next to the municipal dumping site along the Vondeling road out-side Louis Trichardt.

They were supported by the local traffic department and fire brigade when they went in on Thursday to clear up the area. Residents staying along the Vondeling road have been

complaining about people who set up shacks. According to local police spokesperson Const Irene Radzilane, nine illegal shacks were dismantled and burnt to the ground. Some of the inhabitants were apparently locals, while those who were from Zimbabwe had legal permits to be in the country. All of the inhabitants were warned to relocate else-where as they were staying on

private property.Judging by the remains the

squatters formed a small com-munity of their own. Everyone’s “house” (a clearing under a thorn tree) was connected with a bush trail and consisted of a cooking and sleeping space.

The clean-up action was an ef-fort by the police, said Radzilane, to curb crime in and around Louis Trichardt.

The problem of dilapidated and incomplete RDP houses in the region is continuing and benefi-ciaries are becoming more and more frustrated with the lack of progress.

There are still many incom-plete, unoccupied and partially vandalised RDP houses in Mi-doroni,Tshikota, Tshakhuma and Mashau. Many of the RDP houses in the area do not have doors, roofs and windows. The beneficiaries claim they cannot complete the houses by using their own money, citing poverty and unemployment.

Construction of the houses stopped as long as 12 year ago and residents claim that contrac-tors abandoned the project after the government failed to pay them. Some residents allege that contractors simply vanished after being paid, before completing the houses. One of the beneficiaries,

rains as it seems cheap building materials were used,” he said.

Another disgruntled resident, Mr Mike Mpilo, stays in a two-room shack with his wife and seven young children. “I was happy when they dug the foun-dation trenches in our yard. I thought my children would have their own rooms. Instead, people later came to refill the trenches because there was no money to complete the houses,” he said. He said that the contractors delivered building materials for two years before they started collecting the building material and gave it to another person.

The Democratic Alliance’s councillor, Masilo Maphashe, described the situation as “fruit-less and wasteful” expenditure. “The ANC government is fool-ing around with our people and should take responsibility for failing to monitor the project.”

66-year-old pension-er Mr Paulos Fhetani of Midoroni, said he had hoped to die with dignity while living in his own house. “It is painful, because we had hopes of becoming bet-ter people. Our hearts are aching.” Fhetani said he was struggling to take care of his family. “I wish I had money. I could have complet-ed my house, which was left uncompleted in 2002.”

Fhetani currently lives in a two-roomed schack, which is also in a state of near collapse. He says this poses a danger to the lives of the family members, es-pecially during the rainy season. He said they had notified a local ward councillor about their plight, but no action had been taken. “The struc-ture of the RDP house which has been standing in the yard has finally collapsed due to heavy

Livhuwani Nemugomoni stands on the slab that has been left unfinished since 2002. The owner of this stand in Tshakhuma apparently died before her house could be completed.

Paulos Fhetani stands in front of an unfinished RDP house.

Coghsta spokesperson Mr Selomo Motupa said a commit-ment had been made that all the projects in the province would be completed. He promised that the problem of incomplete RDP houses in the area would soon be a thing of the past. “I am quite aware of the RDP house problem in the province. I know that there are people who have been waiting for their houses for a long time and this was because the developers or contractors that were appointed were failing to complete the houses,” he said. “Government has the money to build houses for the people, but contractors are letting us down,” he said.

Motupa said some 2 000 hous-es in the province still need to be completed. He appealed to the affected families to be patient while their problems are being attended to.

“Do not judge me by my lipstick ...”During her primary school years, Dikeledi Mbedzi loved boxing so much that she would sneak in at the house in Mak-warela where former world boxing champion Phillip Ndou used to train.

At the time, women were not allowed to box, but she would not go home without punching the training punch bags. The passion faded and she trained as a nurse and is today a pro-fessional nurse at one of the local clinics in Tho-hoyandou.

Mbed zi (32) of Makwarela partici-pated in a fun walk organized by King Toni Mphephu Ram-abulana, Phalapha-la FM and the royal gardens at Nandoni as part of Heritage month celebrations. She completed the fun walk that was led by the king and other senior political and traditional leaders. The fun walk end-ed with a musangwe tournament

“I did not know that women were al-lowed to fight, but an announcement was made that wom-en could take part. I saw these two women fighting and could see

that they could not beat me. I whispered that they could not beat me and a woman next to me told me that she could beat the hell out of me!”

After the fight stopped, the woman challenged her and Mbedzi “beat her without any effort. I know myself. I am very powerful and could also fight against men,” she said. She said after the fight she had received many offers from promoters who wanted to give her an op-

portunity in the ring. She added that she was still

considering offers, but “with my profession, on the other hand, I could not make a fast decision as I need advice on how the two could work together.”

She said that other women must not judge a book by its cover.

“Do not judge me by my lipstick. I have a thing or two that I can do in boxing,” said the confident Mbedzi

The referee had to intervene when Dikeledi Mbedzi locked horns with Fulufhelo Matshimbilele during a tournament at Nandoni Royal Gardens. Mbedzi easily won the fight.

The Makushu/Musholombi Youth Development fund was formed at Makushu a fortnight ago with the aim of fighting against the high rate of crime and drug abuse.

It also wants to encourage the youth to concentrate on education and alert girls about the problems of pregnancies.

According to the chairperson, Mr Musiwa Thapeli, they felt

that there was a need to start a fund that will assist indigent scholars to further their studies. Makushu is predominantly rural and most of the parents are un-employed, and it is almost im-possible for them to enrol their children at tertiary institutions.

Thapeli said many children had lost direction in their lives and their organisation wanted to support them. He also appealed

to the different organisations in Makushu to support each other because they would not be able to function effectively if they were divided.

Thapeli said the youths were engaged in several activities meant to keep them off the streets.

Several members of the com-munity participated in a fun run during the event.

The annual King Toni Mphep-hu Ramabulana Fun Walk and Musangwe was a royal affair this year with two African kings joining the Vhavenda king and thousands of his sub-jects for the event.

The walk, which started at the Christian Miracle Church at Tshisele and ended at the Nandoni Royal Gardens, was the brainchild of Mphephu Ramabu-lana himself in partnership with Phalaphala FM and the Nandoni Royal Gardens.

It is a buildup to the widely popular Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival, which has

become one of the best crowd pullers in the region.

King Fabrice Zombi from the Democratic Republic of the Con-go and Amapondo King Zanozu-ko Sigcau joined the Vhavenda king and walked the full 12 km to the royal gardens at Nandoni, where they also watched a mu-sangwe tournament. Adressing the event, Mphephu Ramabulana said the event was more than a walk and watching musangwe, but a promotion of unity among the Vhavenda nation and pro-moting Vhavenda culture. “We believe this is an opportune time for us to be together and spend

the day with our people, and it also helps us to keep fit.”

He said the occasion was also meant to showcase what the Venda culture entailed. “We have people from all over the world. This is the time we show what we are made of.”

King Fabrice Zombi said he was no foreigner in Venda as there were many Vhavenda in the DRC. “We are one people and one blood and we take pride in celebrating with you your culture during this special month. I will always support King Toni Mphe-phu’s initiatives as they are for the good of the people,” he said.

The youths who won the fun run during the launch are Patricia Kobe (third - left), Mathatha Libadelo (first - centre) and Muthupei Libadelo (second - right.)

Leading by example are, from right to left, Cllr Tshitereke Matibe (Vhembe executive mayor), King Sigcau, King Toni Mphephu, King Fabrice Zombi and Thovhele Gole Mphaphuli during the 12 km walk to Nadoni.

One of the Limpopo NFD sides, Baroka FC, proved that they really mean it when they say they want to fi nish their league programme on top of the log this year, when they brutally walloped the much-feared Thanda Royal Zuly 4-0 at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay on Saturday.

Sam Ndlovu scored a brace in the fi rst half, while Thabiso Kutumela followed suit in the last stanza.

Baroka remain in the second spot on the log with 10 points, two behind the pace setters, Cape Town All Stars. The newly promoted Mthatha Bucks are still

to win a league match, following their 1-1 draw with FC Cape Town at the NNK Rugby Stadi-um in Cape Town.

Tebogo Makungo scored for the Eastern Cape side in the fourth minute. Bucks held on to the lead until the 84th minute, when Bafana Kali leveled the score with a fi ne header.

Milano United went down 2-0 to Highlandspark at the Blue Downs in Cape Town. Both goals came in the last half - the fi rst via Mbuyi Thibetha, who blasted in a rocket in the 47th minute, and then with David Brown hitting the target three minutes before the fi nal whistle.

Vasco da Gama suffered a 0-3 defeat at the hands of Wit-bank Spurs at the Puma Rugby Stadium in eMalahleni. Julius Likontsane scored a brace, while the third one was scored by Tha-bo Makhele.

Santos had an unforgettable afternoon when they lost 1-4 to Royal Eagles at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban. There was a goalless stalemate at the Charles Mopedi Stadium in Phuthaditshaba as African Warriors shared the spoils with Amazulu. Back in Thohoyandou, Black Leopards lost 0-2 to Cape Town All Stars in front of their home crowd.

Students too good for PhalaPhala FMUniven Radio beat Phalaphala FM 5-3 in their return match at the Univen grounds on Sunday afternoon.

It took Univen seven minutes to open their ac-count. Elekanyani Sidogi beat the offside trap and blasted in a rocket from close range.

Phalaphala lost cohesion in the middle of the park shortly after the Univen goal and were se-verely punished. A scramble in the danger area of Phala Phala in the 13th minute gave rise to Univen's second goal. Sidogi fi nished off a rebound, follow-ing an attempt by Teejay Mashimbyi. The half-time score was 2-0 in favour of Univen.

Lucky Tshilimandila of Phalaphala reduced the margin and scored early in the second half. The goal was a wake-up call to the players of Phalaphala FM. They scored another goal when Kelvin Murubi hit the net in the 58th minute. They continued to dom-inate in the last half and increased the margin after only four minutes. Murubi completed his brace

by blasting in a rocket from the 25-yards area.

Tshengelo Sikhomo of Univen was reprimanded with a card, fol lowing a l a t e t a c k l e on Rudzani Khalushi in the 64th min-ute . Just ice Masekani of Univen scored his team's third goal in the 60th minute. They scored the fourth and fifth goal via E l e k a n y a n i Sidogi.

Municipalities of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) participate annually in the inter-municipal games. The Vhembe District Municipality has sent about 60 employees to participate in the games in Maseru, the capital of Lesotho. They will compete in events such as soccer, netball, volleyball, fishing, table tennis and snooker. The games started last Saturday and will finish this afternoon (Friday). In our photo, the executive mayor of the Vhembe District Municipality, Cllr Tshitereke Matibe, shakes hands with one of the municpal employees. Next to him stands Thovhele Nthumeni Masia. Can Black Leopards outsmart Cape Town?It remains to be seen whether Black Leopards will bounce back and make FC Cape Town pay for the 0-2 defeat they suffered at the hands of Cape Town All Stars, when they meet in their NFD match at the Thohoyandou Stadium to-morrow afternoon.

According to Leopards’ head coach, Mr David Bright, they had put last weekend’s results against Cape Town All Stars behind them, and they are looking forward to collecting full points tomorrow.

Lidoda Duvha dropped from the second to the fifth position on the log, following last Sunday’s 0-2 defeat to Cape Town All Stars. Leopards’ left

winger, Bongani Manana, sustained a knee injury last Sunday and will not be fit to play.

The strikers for Cape Town will not find it easy to beat the Leopards defenders, Harry Nyirenda, Thivhavhudzi Ndou and Jonathan King.

Should FC Cape Town collect full points tomor-row, it will be their first victory this season. The team from the mother city drew 1-1 with Mthatha Bucks at the NNK Rugby Stadium in Cape Town last Saturday.

Santos have a mountain to climb tomorrow. They will host Witbank Spurs at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Spurs are in top form after beating Vasco da Gama 3-0 last weekend. Amazulu and Moroka Swallows will meet at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban, while Royal Eagles will lock horns with Mbombela United at the Kanyamazane Stadium. African Warriors will meet Highlandspark in Thembisa.

Sunday's fixtures are Vasco da Gama vs Thanda Royal Zulu and Mthatha Bucks vs Baroka FC. This afternoon (Friday), Cape Town All Stars will take on Milano United.

The community organisation A People’s Platform for So-cial Justice, is organizing a national protest march for 30 September.

Originally the march was planned for Cape Town and Gauteng only, but the Vhembe Civil Society Network is mobi-

lizing for a march in solidarity to take place in Thohoyandou on the same day. According to the organisers, the aim is to show South Africa “that we, too, have had enough, and are determined to put an end to the epidemic of corruption and malpractice that is crippling our country and denying

essential services to the poor.”The general public is invited to

show their commitment by join-ing the march, which will start at 11:00 at the Thohoyandou Town Hall. It will end at around 14:00 with the presentation of a mem-orandum to the executive mayor at the Vhembe municipal offices.

Nkosiyazi Sibanda aims for a sixth victory in the marathon.

Top athletes ready for Two CountriesThe tension is mounting for the Two Countries Marathon that will take place on Saturday, and several athletes from different countries will be vying for the top prizes. Last year's champion, Nkosiyazi Sibanda, reckons he has what it takes to claim his sixth victory in this prestigious race.

The Zimbabwean runner finished the tough route in 2:25:57 last year, claiming his fifth victory. The 34-year-old athlete seems to be in good nick, and earlier this year he successfully defended his title at the Vic Falls Econet marathon for the fourth consecutive year. He indicated that he has his eyes set on victory and wants another gold medal.

His competition will in all likelihood come from athletes such as Michael Ngaseke of Mr Price Athletics Club. “I started to prepare for the Two Countries Marathon a long time ago and I am sure I will do my best this year. I made a few mistakes in the last marathons, but I look forward to rectifying them and crossing the finish line in top form in my next race,” said Ngaseke.

Kelvin Pangiso of Mr Price Athletics Club, also from Zimbabwe, says he aims to break the Two Countries Marathon record. “With the hard work I put into my training sessions, anything is possible. It wasn’t difficult for me to win the medals in the previous marathons," he said

In the other categories, many tough battles are expected. Local athlete and veteran runner Jane Mudau says that she trained hard to win her category and also to set a new course record. Jane won the master's section last year and ended second overall in the ladies race.

Olivia Chitachi says she is in perfect condition and ready to become the new ladies champion. According to her, she cannot let her fans and her country down.

The 42,2 km race will start in Zimbabwe and end at Eric Louw High School in Musina. This

is the 18th year that the race is being held and it is again organised by the Soutpansberg Athletics Club, in co-operation with Musina Municipality. The main event is the marathon (42,2km), but there will also be a 21,1km half-marathon and 9km run, with a total prize money of R73 2000. The 9-km run is hosted by Eric Louw.

The marathon will start at 06:00 and compul-sory free transport will be provided from Eric Louw to the starting line. The 21,1-km race will start (07:00) and finish at Eric Louw, as well as the 9-km race (starting at 07:30). Athletes must pre-enter for this race and must be in possession of a valid passport on the day of the race.

According to the mayor of Musina, Cllr Mihloti Ramoyada, the main purpose of the marathon is to promote long-distance running in the area. She appealed to the runners to be punctual at the registration point.

Local boys in sevens tournament in DubaiTwo of Louis Trichardt’s very own young rugby players have been handpicked to be part of an international sevens tourna-ment later this year.

AC Geldenhuys and Ali Sofele are both pupils at Louis Trichardt High School who play for their first rugby team. About a month ago, the two’s team played a match against Merensky High School, where they were selected for the Eagles Invitational U/19 team that has entered the Emir-ates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens tournament.

This tournament is held in conjunction with the World Rug-by men’s and women’s Sevens

World Series, and will take place in Dubai from 3 to 5 December. Annually, the tournament is attended by more than 120 000 people who come to watch the 16 international rugby teams and 160 invitational teams who travel from all over the world to be part of the tournament.

The Eagles’ Invitational Team consists of young players select-ed from across South Africa. From Limpopo, apart from AC and Ali, only two more players were selected, both from Mer-ensky.

Both AC and Ali impressed the Eagles’ scout. Especially AC was recommended for his light foot-

work and swiftness in the game. The duo’s coaches are especially impressed with them and are helping with extra practise and raising funds for the two.

Players who are entered into the tournament are responsible for the payment of their own inclusive tournament fee. For AC and Ali, this will be R25 000 each.

Both have already started collecting money to enable them to attend the tournament, but residents are also welcome to help them.

For more information, the school can be contacted at Tel 015 516 4965.

Tshakhuma Na Ndilani snatched a late winning goal against FC KK, whom they beat 3-2, to secure a place in the final of the Amos Shield Charity Tournament at the Tshakhuma Mu-langaphuma Stadium on Saturday.

As if they were going to bury Tshakhuma alive, KK started the game like a house on fire, with their midfielders pushing forward in their search for early goals. Their efforts did not pass without reward as they managed to open their account three

The Come Together Soccer Challenge match between Muraleni United and Madombidzha Western Stars ended in 3-all draw.

The winner was determined by a penalty shoot-out and United won 7-5. The match was played at Muraleni on Saturday.

Stars would have scored at least three more goals, had it not been for acrobatic goalkeeping by Unit-ed’s keeper, Faith Ratombo. Godwin Mahuwa was a difficult man to mark. He eluded the Stars defence as he kept running from the start of the match.

56th minute. Against the run of play, he caught the opponent’s keeper off guard.

The goal acted as a catalyst for Stars. It was therefore not surprising when Maanda Magoro of Stars put his side ahead. He scored from 20 meters with a marvellous shot.

Stars cored their third gaol via Villa Thathaisa in the 60th minute. Phathutshedzo Livhalani of United then scored with a blistering shot that beat the Stars keeper. He completed his brace by scoring the equaliser late in the match.

Absa Bank showed its support for student sport when it sponsored a soccer league at the University of Venda with R350 000.

Absa Bank’s provincial head of business banking, Mr Cobus Wells, said his company was happy to be able to contribute towards the development of education in the rural areas.

He said his company realised that the students needed financial and resource assistance. He expressed the hope that, through the partnership, the leagues would improve.

“This is part of our company’s mission of giving something back to the community. We hope other companies will learn that it is im-portant to reward members of the community, because they are the ones who made us what we are today. As a company, it is our obligation to ensure that the society in which we are living is healthy, and sponsoring football is a step in the right direction,” he said.

Univen’s deputy vice-chancellor, Dr Jannie Zaaiman, praised Absa for their decision to sponsor football.

Zaaiman said he was proud of the quality of soccer and administration on the campus.

He said that the Univen league would produce

Netshimbulu sends Maweja into finalMaweja Takers secured a place in the final of the Amos Shield Charity Tournament by nar-rowly beating Tshakhuma Peace Lovers 1-0 at the Tshakhuma Mulangaphuma Stadium on Saturday.

Peace Lovers played the full game with only 10 men, due to the unavailability of the other players.

They managed, however, to match Maweja pound for pound for the whole match. The ab-sence of the Lovers’ left-footed striker, Zwanga Muvhango, was evident from the start. Muvhango watched the game from the touchline as he was still serving a suspension after seeing red in their game against FC KK at the Malaria grounds two weeks ago.

Dakalo Mudau of Peace Lovers was booked in the 14th minute. He was tackled the rough way, but the referee chose not to reprimand the culprit.

The referee’s decision did not go down well with Mudau and he started to accuse the referee of favoritism.

Realizing that Mudau would not stop pointing fingers at him, the referee showed him yellow.

Maweja effected the first change to their start-ing line-up nine minutes before the break. They introduced Mashudu Makhari at the expense

a mere yellow. KK approached the last half ag-gressively. They found the equalizer via Mashudu Nyadzani, who scored from a free kick with a vol-ley. Realizing that a draw was enough to take them to the final, KK started to play defensive football. Makhurabada did not stop fighting, although time was not on their side.

Pressure mounted on Lovers’ defence with time. Maweja replaced Khumbudzo Muvhango with Ipfi Muthubi. Muthubi missed a fortune three minutes after his introduction.

They fought back and in the 19th minute, Rolivhuwa Mukwevho was on tar-get, following a scram-ble within the box.

KK lost their original rhythm shortly after the equaliser. Khaukanani Mudau tried his luck from the 35 meter area with a volley. The keep-er of FC KK, Andani Netshishivhe, watched helplessly as the ball hit the back of the net.

Oscar Ntshauba of Tshakhuma was warned with a card seven min-utes before the half-time whistle. He tackled Murendeni Netsianda from behind and was lucky to get away with

Black Leopards tasted the pain of losing a league match this season, when they lost 0-2 to Cape Town All Stars in their NFD match at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.

The home side threatened to score two minutes into the game. Their dribbling wizard, Leonard Ntshan-gase, was brought down within the box. Instead of blowing the whistle and awarding a penalty to Lidoda Duvha, the referee, Mr Shane Chuma, waved a play-on signal as if nothing had happened. His decision did not go down well with the Leopards’ fans as they started to jeer him.

That was a wake-up call to the team from the mother city. They took the game to the hosts, giving the Leop-ards’ defenders no time to breathe. The wheel of fortune turned against Lidoda Duvha in the 24th minute.

Thapelo Mathibe received a pre-

cooked pass from James Mofokeng and beat Leopards’ keeper, Avhasho-ni Tshinuna, with a half volley. A few minutes later, Leopards’ left wing, Bongani Manana, sustained a knee injury and was replaced with Them-bisani Nevhulamba.

Nevhulamba realized that it was not his day when he squandered a clear scoring chance shortly after his introduction. He received a neat pass from Leonard Ntshangase and hesitat-ed for far too long to unleash until he lost possession. Leopards introduced Mxolisi Ntshingila and sacrificed Jabulani Ndebele six minutes into the last half.

Leopards later replaced Morgan Shibambu with Meshack Maphan-gule. All Stars increased the margin in the 78th minute. Thapelo Mathibe blasted in a rocket, following scram-ble within the box.
