EXTENSION OF PUBLIC FORUM

The Mayors Acknowledgement of the Wurundjeri People
The Mayor read an acknowledgement of the traditional land owners, the Wurundjeri people.

Presentations
A presentation was made at item 2.1 Municipal Emergency Management Plan Endorsement of Councils Certificate of Audit by the Victorian State Emergency Service (SES). A presentation was made at item 2.2 Order of Australia Honours - Banyule Recipients of Congratulation certificates to the recipients of this years awards by the Mayor.

2. PEOPLE COMMUNITY STRENGTHENING AND SUPPORT
2.1 MUNICIPAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN ENDORSEMENT
A presentation was made by Mr Allan Barnard of the Victorian State Emergency Service (SES) of Councils Certificate of Audit. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Banyule Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMPlan) which addresses the prevention of, response to, provision of relief services and the recovery from emergencies affecting the municipalitys community, has been fully reviewed and audited by the Victoria State Emergency Service. The MEMPlan (Amendment No. 17) has been adopted by the Banyule Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC) and now requires Council endorsement.
Resolution (CO2014/275)
That Council: 1. Endorse the Banyule Municipal Emergency Management Plan.
2. Congratulate Council and agency staff for again achieving a Best Practice audit result. 3. Acknowledge the ongoing work undertaken by the Banyule Municipal Emergency
Management Planning Committee and Council and agency staff in helping to prepare the municipality for emergency events.

2.2 ORDER OF AUSTRALIA HONOURS - BANYULE RECIPIENTS
Mr Max Chester OAM (and former Councillor), addressed Council and provided an overview of the Order of Australia Day Honours. A presentation was made by the Mayor of Congratulation certificates to this years Order of Australia Honours recipients Mrs Margaret Andrews, Mr Ronald Barker, Mr Robert Elworthy, Prof. John Isaac and Mr David Woods (Mrs Wendy Drowley was an apology). EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Order of Australia recognises those who have made outstanding contributions to their communities. These awards and appointments are publicly announced on Australia Day (26 January) and the Queens Birthday public holiday (June). The Council for the Order of Australia is an independent body that considers nominations for appointments and awards in the General Division of the Order. In this years Orders, several Banyule residents were honoured. The Mayor, on behalf of Council, will present Congratulation certificates to the recipients of the awards, in recognition of their contribution.
