1
History course (Cold War) with Moodle platform (24 learners aged 19-20)
Pattern
2
ICT skills
Students' mother tongue should be used with written instructions for teaching the necessary computer
skills before the first module in English starts.
3
ICT support should be available throughout the course.
Only a few key tools should be selected for groups with little
experience of using social media. (e.g. e-mail, youtube, download-helper, flv
and vlc player to see video off-line)The use of tools should require little
logging in and passwords.
4
Number and length of contact lessons
In a blended course: 2 face-to-face lessons at the beginning to learn
the necessary skills, 1 face-to-face intermediate lesson for monitoring
course with regard to strengthnesses and weaknesses
5
and 1 face-to-face final lesson to register the attained level of
togetherness within the group
6
The lessons should be long enough to properly address historical contents, ICT mastering and
language problems. 60 minute lessons proved too short. 90 minute
lessons were barely adequate.
7
Tasks and interactionTasks should designed so that they are
interesting and relevant to the learners.
8
One way to achieve this is to present a comparative assessment and evaluation
of contributions to the wider debates and ask the students to take part in a
role playing on controversies relating to the subject. So that last lessons should
be very useful to create more interaction among students.

managed by the trainers.

15
