  4. 4. ARTIST BACKGROUND ASA (Artist for Stray Animals) Non-Profit Organization Lead by Tang Yeok Khang | Louis Low | Natthaton Muangkliang, Involved In 101 Lost Kittens
  5. 5. OBJECTIVE OF ASA To use art as a medium in creating social awareness, drawing attention to the plight of stray cats and dogs.
  6. 6. 101 LOST KITTEN Creating awareness regarding the issue of finding a home for stray animals, using mural hunting and Facebook contests
  7. 7. DESCRIPTION Love Me Like Your Fortune Cat An art which calls upon every owner to love their pets like how they love the fortune cat. Fortune cats or Maneki-neko, are believed to bring wealth or luck to businesses
  8. 8. FIVE CONCEPTS SUBJECTIVE PERCEPTION -Fortune cats bring luck and good -Black cat dedicate unlucky and dirty. CONFLICT -Conflict: Colour conflict between black and red. -Used to convey different message. - A common Japanese figurine that had been bring into Malaysia Chinese culture. INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION -An eye contact -Eyeball looking upward shows jealousy SELECTIVE ATTENTION -The mural is drawing an attention to the black cats wish to be as lucky as the fortune cat.

  10. 10. ARTIST BACKGROUND WK Setor Born in KL, A contributor of a number of murals to the Penang Street Art scene. Most popular mural is "I Want Pau" Mural
  11. 11. DESCRIPTION In A Kopi Tiam Kitchen A scene of a Chinese coffee shop which is filled with details of various items in the style of an old Chinese kopitiam.

FIVE CONCEPTS INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP The relationship between the boy and the baby as they play with one another INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION Representing one of the Malaysian Chinese culture which is different from others. NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION Smile of the girl shows her happiness and cheerfulness PERCEPTION (SIMILARITY) Actual items such as a boiler, a grandfather clock and a tin of Milo. PROXIMITY Teacups on the shelf are perceived as a set due to its close proximity and similar arrangement

  15. 15. ARTIST BACKGROUND Studio Selipar is a group of artists who wish to portray the leisure of life through art. Mural art by Faiz Yunus, Woh Jing Hao and Kar Lai. They came second in the Wall Art Competition 2015 category in Laman Seni Seksyen 2, Petaling Jaya.

  17. 17. -Between socioeconomic group -Difference between adults and children FIVE CONCEPTS -Black: dull and boring life -Colours: enjoyable and carefree life INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION SUBJECTIVE PERCEPTION INTERPRETATION The colour spread out could be a letter M or the flowing rain MOVEMENT & POSTURE -Big strides shows urgency -Kids posture indicates carefree mentality CONFLICT -Between colour contrast -Shows different point of view towards life of adults and children

  19. 19. Happy Human is a group of artist from Dasein Academy of Art which contain of 14 students. Involved in Suara Project which advance design as a powerful craft to communicate an idea with local vocal ARTIST BACKGROUND
  20. 20. Suara Anak Malaysia A graphical depiction of the different thoughts found among Malaysians of different background and races in the country. DESCRIPTION

FIVE CONCEPTS Intergroup Conflict Disagreement that may happen between two or more ethnic groups and their members Intercultural Communication Mural depicts the existence of different races in Malaysia through the different languages Mass Communication -Message intended for the masses of individuals -Limited feedbacks -Open to public Perception Process : Figure and Ground White figures serve as the subject while the black wall serves as the bacground. Slang Informal words commonly used between people from same social group
